# Sources of Record

Sources of Record publishes attributable canonical statements from responsible entities. Publication does not imply independent verification.

## Languages and provenance

The interface supports 30 locales through locale-prefixed UI routes while existing English canonical URLs remain unprefixed. Each record preserves its original authoritative language. A translated record surface is substantive and indexable only after an authorized owner or editor publishes that translation; draft translations and untranslated locale shells are excluded. Hreflang advertises only the original and published substantive translations, with x-default pointing to the stable canonical identity.

## Formats

Canonical URLs support .json, .md, and .jsonld. Stable machine keys expose language_code or inLanguage without translating identifiers. Entity manifests use /entity/{slug}/manifest.json and manifest.md.
